Dimple Foundation Wrap
Foundation wrap is the most common type of material used for waterproofing foundation walls. The purpose of using foundation wrap is to prevent the entry of moisture, or rain into the wall cavity. It is a dimpled high-density polyethylene membrane that keeps foundations and flooring dry.
This plastic membrane is wrapped around the foundations wall. Foundation Wrap creates an air gap between wet soil and your basement wall, allowing the poured concrete and concrete block wall to breathe and provides a clear negative side drainage path to disperse any ground moisture that might find it way behind the membrane. Wet soil never touches the wall next to your living space, thus reducing the chances of water infiltration into the basement
This material forms a weather resistant barrier minimizing moisture intrusion and improving a buildings energy efficiency. Foundation wraps are flexible enough to cover future cracks and virtually eliminate basement leaks. Shifting and settlement cracks will not affect the life expectancy of the foundation wrap. It is strong, easy to install and requires no maintenance and is unaffected by freeze/thaw cycles
Foundation wrap will drain water to the weeping or drain tiles, leaving the foundation walls dry. The material of the foundation wrap is flexible and strong enough to prevent tearing during installation or back filling. Some of the other benefits of the Dimple foundation Wrap are:
Acts as an air-gap and capillary breaking waterproofing and drainage membrane
Keeps soil moisture from touching the wall, condenses and drains construction moisture to the footing drains
Product is safe, non-toxic that does not require any protective respiratory or handling devices during installation
Installs quickly
Bridges cracks and ignores damage points of foundation walls
Forms an independent skin around the basement
Does not require any special preparation of the concrete foundation wall, beyond code requirements
Environmentally friendly, recyclable
